Tear works

Works of torn white paper. By the white paper contrasting the paints to surface crack clearly visible.If the paper is torn there arise two ' tear ' lines. One line is the mirror image of the other line.By these lines to work side-by-side paste created the tear.

Tear work orange/black 1

2019

A long strip of white paper is painted black on the front and orange on the back. Then the paper is teared obliquely in a special way along a straight line. Two strips of paper then arise, the white tear line of each strip of paper being each other's mirror image when one strip is turned around. The two strips are glued together on a sheet of paper.Between the two lines is the back color orange. This is repeated. The tear lines can be deviated from the straight line to return back  to the straight line. The appearance of the tear lines is determined by the quality of the paper, the thickness of the paper, the paint types and the technique of tearing and the way they are glued together.
The work is signed at the back. Themes of Nico Kok such as the use of materials,how is work made, image/mirror image, left/right,front/back, vertical lines and square are reflected in this work.

Between the to lines is the color of the back (orange).This is repeated. The tear lines can be deviated from the straight line to return back  to the straight line. The appearance of the tear lines is determined by the quality of the paper, the thickness of the paper, the paint types and  technique of tearing and the way they are glued together. 
With this work, the notches are positioned in such a way that two diagonals of a square are created.
